Geno Five – (Never) Going Back Artist Spotlight Vol. 161 #Genofive

Rarenorm: “Why did you make this song? What do you want to achieve in your music career? When did you start loving music and what are you creating next?”

I made this song because there were things/people in my life (and on this album) that I was never going back to. If you’re doing it right, life is constant growth and development in your character (physically, morally, etc.). We learn things about ourselves and others that we keep a mental note of and then apply the lessons when necessary.

I split “(Never) Going Back” into three parts (each with a different beat because there are three different meanings) the first verse is about my struggles with pursuing Hip Hop as a career and how I have reached this breaking point and I never want to go back to being an artist. In a sense, I talk about “giving up.”

The next verse is about me never going back to somebody romantically and the third is me going back to this pursuit of being a hip-hop artist (which is why the “Never” is in parenthesis) because I have already done so much to get where I am at this very moment. Sorry I went on longer than I had hoped but this song is very uhhh….. layered.

Well, aside from being successful I want to positively impact as many people in the world as I can. I want to live comfortably off of my own music, be a HipHop Icon and make “Geno Five” a household name.

I became a huge fan of HipHop in 8th grade when my friend had put me on to the song “4,3,2,1” by LL Cool J, Method Man, Redman, Canibus, and Master P. Since then my life has really never been the same haha.

I’m working on a few singles at the moment. I think I’m going to lay off of projects for a while lol they are WAAAAAAYYY too much work and I like just dropped one so it can wait lol.
