Ari Lennox Talks Mental Health and More

For the latest entry in our Conversations With interview series, HYPEBEAST linked up wit Ari Lennox, the R&B singer who’s signed to J. Cole’s Dreamville label. The DMV native sits down to discuss mental health, the loss of Mac Miller, her musical influences and making her debut album.

“I realized, you know, music is how I can give back to someone who wants to, who might be suicidal or who might just not be feeling good or needs some type of inspiration,” she explains. “That’s what I need to be doing while I’m here.”

Ari Lennox continues to soar, dropping four new singles — titled “Grampa,” “40 Shades of Choke,” “Pedigree” and “No One” — within the month. She’s gearing up to release her debut album, which doesn’t have a release date as of yet, but it would be her first project in two years since her debut EP, PHO. Lennox was also be featured on the song “Shea Butter Baby” with J. Cole on the Mike WiLL Made-It-curated Creed II soundtrack.
