Donald Glover Cast as Simba in <i>The Lion King</i> Remake

Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) has been cast as Simba in Disney’s remake of The Lion King, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Jon Favreau (Iron Male, Elf), who directed The Jungle Book remake final 12 months, will direct the reside-motion adaptation. James Earl Jones will reprise his function as Mufasa. The initial animated version of The Lion King was launched in 1994.

This casting is the most current in a slew of new roles for Glover. He is currently starring in the Golden World-winning FX series “Atlanta,” which he developed and co-writes. (He gained the Golden World for Greatest Actor in a Television Series or Musical for playing Earnest “Earn” Marks in the clearly show.) The series has presently been renewed by Fx for a 10-episode 2nd period. In October, Glover was cast as a young Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Han Solo movie. The still untitled Han Solo movie is established to be launched in 2018.
