New Documentary Teenage Superstars Features Jesus & Mary Chain, Primal Scream, More

In 2015, director Grant McPhee produced The Major Gold Desire, a documentary tracking Scottish indie labels Quickly Solution and Postcard Records, and how they contributed to the increase of bands like Orange Juice, the Jesus & Mary Chain, and Teenage Fanclub. Now, the next installment of that “Sound of Youthful Scotland” series, titled Teenage Celebrity, is gearing up for launch. The documentary focuses on Glasgow in the ’80s and consists of interviews with some of the men and women driving Development Records, Teenage Fanclub, BMX Bandits, the Jesus and Mary Chain, and Primal Scream. This is a movie that displays men and women what they can achieve when they break the procedures,” McPhee said in a press launch. To entire the task, the film’s creators have released a group funding campaign. They find £20,000 or over $twenty five,000. Moreover posters, mugs, and other memorability, a donation of £1250 will get paid backers an affiliate producer credit score.
