Prince’s New “Why The Butterflies” Song, Stream

The latest unreleased Prince song to surface,, the Prince Estate and Warner Bros. Records have officially released “Why The Butterflies.” This latest track will stand as one of three previously-unreleased “new” songs on the forthcoming Prince album Piano & A Microphone 1983. The other two records are “Cold Coffee & Cocaine” and “Wednesday,” which were also recorded along with “Why The Butterflies” at Prince’s home studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Notably, “Why The Butterflies” is also being billed as a “sketch of a song,” as opposed to a fully-formed composition.

Earlier this week, Pharrell Williams revealed that “Frontin” was originally written for Prince.
