Pusha T Reveals How His Beef With Drake Started

With Drake and Pusha T‘s beef reaching fever pitch, many are wondering what sparked the G.O.O.D. Music president to call out the Canadian artist on DAYTONA.

In a recent talk with Funkmaster Flex, Push revealed the origin of the feud really stems from his Clipse years with his brother Malice. Lil Wayne was accused of stealing the duo’s flow in the 2000s prompting Weezy to fuel tensions in subsequent interviews. Pusha took exception to that, with things boiling over when Birdman bragged about Cash Money/Young Money while putting down G.O.O.D. Music following his signing.

Signed to Young Money, Drake at first was simply brought into a pre-existing strictly competitive beef with Pusha T’s pointed 2012 track “Exodus 23:1.” But according to Push, over the year’s the 6 God has crossed lines pushing him to release the now infamous “Infrared” track on DAYTONA. Additionally, Pusha T notes that he feels Drake only responded because he felt threatened by the upcoming releases from G.O.O.D. Music records. Going on to say that although Drake’s Scorpion album will do numbers “it’s not gonna be better than DAYTONA.”
