Why did you make this song?
As dedicated artists, we are faced with the social trials that come with putting all your time and focus on your craft. Sicnarf and I felt it was a necessity to create a record that reflected that aspect of being a musician. We both made the decision to put music first and sacrifice being present for others. The path we chose is a lifestyle, a mindset, and a journey. “Nothing New” depicts two artists on similar journeys, unwilling to let anyone or anything get in the way.
What do you want to achieve in your music career?
My goal as an artist is to continuously be improving, building and cultivating my sound. I want to push the limits of where my musical artistry can go. I want to let the fire burn until it is out of control. I want this immense energy spread onto others and influence them to be great. As high as I can go, I will go.
When did you start loving music and what are you creating next?
When I was 2 years old, I remember my parents would always have the Haitian radio station playing. Haitian music hits your soul in a different way and that’s when I started falling in love with music. In 3rd grade during music class, I discovered I was really good at registering musical notes and playing them back. My music teacher would play notes on the xylophone and have us play them back by ear. This was when my love for music evolved. I became addicted to music and strengthening my craft. I picked up the violin in the 4th grade and started purchased my first keyboard the year after. My love for music continued to grow as I segued into being a music recording artist and a mixing engineer. I don’t know what the future holds but I’m excited to be able to keep pushing my craft and watching it grow exponentially and perpetually.
