Jon Bellion: Music’s Undiscovered R&B Star
This Indie Singer-Songwriter Is About To Deliver A Hot New Hit!
Jon Bellion is an American singer, songwriter, and producer from Long Island, New York whose musical career is about to take off with the premiere of his first studio album The Human Condition. Released by Capitol Records, the album is set to debut on June 10th.
If you haven’t heard of Jon Bellion, don’t worry—he’s a relatively unknown artist. His first mixtape, Scattered Thoughts Vol. 1, was released in early 2011 via his Facebook page and reached over 11,000 downloads. In 2012, Bellion signed with Visionary Music Group and released a cover of Drake’s “The Motto” on their YouTube page.
Jon Bellion is no stranger to working with famous music stars, though. In 2012, he co-wrote and produced the song “Trumpets” by Jason Derulo. In 2013, Bellion wrote the chorus to the song “The Monster” by Eminem featuring Rihanna. At the 2015 Grammy Awards, the song won an award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.
After finding success writing for these famous artists, Jon Bellion’s career started to pick up. On September 23rd, 2014, he released his fourth free project, The Definition under Visionary Music Group. He headlined his first national tour, The Beautiful Mind Tour, in October 2014. In early 2015, Bellion released three singles through Capitol Records: “Woodstock (Psychedelic Fiction)”, “All Time Low” (feat. Travis Mendes), and “Woke the F*ck Up”. watch the video here:
Once these singles were released, Bellion further progressed in the music world when he began performing with several successful artists. In 2015, he was featured on the song “Beautiful Now” from Zedd’s album True Colors. Bellion was also featured on American rapper B.o.B’s album Psycadelik Thoughtz on the song “Violence”.
The special thing about Jon Bellion is that he composes and produces all of his own music. He has worked very hard to get where he is today, and that makes his first studio album The Human Condition that much more unique. Bellion has released two singles from The Human Condition, the first being “Guillotine” on April 22nd and the second being “80’s Films” on May 27th. “80’s Films” is featured below.
