The Switch’s Start Lineup Is Having Beefier

Earth of Goo

The Nintendo Switch’s launch lineup was in the beginning a disappointment for persons who required far more than five launch titles. Nintendo enthusiasts were being complaining that, in truth, the only “real” launch title for the Swap is Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It would make sense—the Wii U, Wii and 3DS all released with far more.

Months right after the Switch’s January twelfth push occasion, the lineup is wanting a little bit far more flush. Just right now, a few far more ports were being extra.

As of January thirteenth, the Switch’s launch lineup was:

  • one, two Swap
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
  • Just Dance 2017
  • Super Bomberman R
  • Skylanders: Imaginators

But in the subsequent months, these were being extra (the final 3 right now!):

  • The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+
  • I Am Setsuna
  • Human Useful resource Equipment
  • Small Inferno
  • Earth of Goo

So, yeah, far more game titles may nonetheless be declared in time for launch—maybe not plenty of to match the Wii U’s preliminary 32 or the 3DS’s eighteen. But some far more. Hopefully.

I’d say the slow trickle of announcements is a bad transfer for Nintendo if they are hoping to make hoopla for the console, but GameStop and Amazon’s initial batch of allotments marketed like hotcakes. Preferably, however, the final launch lineup’s port-to-original title ratio will be greater than what we’re currently observing.

: An earlier version of the piece improperly referred to Human Useful resource Equipment. The accurate spelling has been bundled.
