Star Wars: Battlefront Looks Nearly Photorealistic With The Help of A Graphics Mod

When Star Wars: Battlefront first came out, it was already equipped with impressive graphics. A video showcasing the power of a new graphics mod, however, proves to its viewers that those graphics can surpass ‘impressive’ and become photo-realistic.

A video showcasing the power of this upcoming visual mod was released on March 11, 2016. The video itself shows gameplay footage in which the mod is in use- and the results are stunning. As the player traverses through the landscape, enhanced textures make the rocks, sand, and hills look as if they are nearly tangible. The Stormtroopers that the player shoots at are no different. The graphics are so enhanced, in fact, that the video almost looks like it could be a clip from a live-action film. This is not a film, however. This is the work of the Toddyhancer graphics mod, which is currently in development by Martin Bergman. The mod makes use of Reshade, a post-process injector, to create the gorgeous textures present in the video. Though the clip is only 52 seconds long, the awe it inspires in its viewers lasts much longer.

Star Wars: Battlefront was developed in 2015 by EA DICE for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.
