Video production Internship (Boston, MA)

This internship is designed for students who wish to learn and gain experience within the fast-paced multi-platform media industry, with plenty of opportunities to learn new skills on-the-go. We expect our interns to be proactive, professional, and plugged into the universe we actively cover. This internship will provide you with the opportunity to gain a bird’s-eye-view of the day-to-day operations at a high-volume fashion and culture platform.

To be considered for an internship at Rare Norm, applicants:

  • Must currently be enrolled in a college/university
  • Interns can work a max. of 25 hours per week during the summer and a max. of 20 hours per week during the fall/spring.
  • Commitment of 3 days to 5 days per week is required for a 10-week period
  • Interns must attend an Intern orientation prior to starting
  • Personal laptop is a plus
  • Must be familiar with Apple office products
  • Must be located in NYC
  • Travel stipend included

Growth Potential

  • Assisting with creative research to supplement editorial team
  • A firsthand look at the conceptualization and development of .com articles and multi-platform narratives
  • Working with the team to write treatments for video concepts and short-form posts for the website
  • Assist in creating high-concept, visually arresting mood boards that can be translated into multi-platform content
  • Learning the ropes of short-form Internet video production, including the opportunity to assist on productions

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the team on editorial research and assisting on photo and video shoots
  • Assistant editing and pre-/post-production organization
  • Ability to plan and execute short-form video content across multiple social media platforms
  • Video editing (ideal candidates have a strong interest in or are familiar with Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere)

  • Managing the Studio Calendar to avoid scheduling conflicts

Skills

  • Media degree advantageous but not a requirement
  • Preferable two years’ experience working in (digital) video/photo production preferred

Visual Editor Internship (Boston, MA)

Rare Norm is currently looking for a highly-motivated visual editor research intern in Berlin, that will be working alongside the Graphics and Photography Team helping in curating and creating visuals for all our platforms. Please note that this role only applies to applicants currently partaking in a university course.

Responsibilities

  • Curating images for online stories including searching suitable and high quality images matching the aesthetic of Rare Norm, editing and adding overlays
  • Occasionally sourcing images for our social media channels
