Art last week Share Tweet Pin Share Located near the city of Isfahan, the Kharand House is designed to modernize traditional features of Iranian architecture. The house’s name is a reference to courtyards, which are no longer as common as they once were, and the design provides an alternative to this forgotten feature of local houses. The house is split into three levels, with the ground floor opening out into a walled courtyard with a pool. The second floor also features a second yard, which is then divided into two sections to maintain privacy. The focus on open-space continues throughout the house and includes the roof which can be used as a terrace space. Take a look around the Kharand House in the gallery above.
