Art 7 months ago Share Tweet Pin Share Following the announcement of his “Connecting Time” exhibition at the MOCO museum, Daniel Arsham is set to launch another concurrent show at Amsterdam’s Galerie Ron Mandos. Entitled “Static Mythologies,” the expansive presentation will feature new works that invoke his ongoing Fictional Archaeology series alongside a reimagined Lunar Garden installation — one of the artist’s signature architectural interventions. For the eroded sculptures, Arsham was inspired by magazine covers and objects used in various sports. “These works refer to an art historical context: they are reminiscent of the wet drapery technique in Ancient Greek sculpture, but also of Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s iconic wrapped sculptures,” said the gallery in a statement. “Static Mythologies” will run from January 11 until February 16.
