Art 6 months ago Share Tweet Pin Share This past July, Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris announced its upcoming Jean-Michel Basquiat retrospective to launch this fall. Now, the premier institution previews select works from the legendary artist alongside pieces for a concurrent show of the late Austrian painter, Egon Schiele, who was the protégé of Gustav Klimt. The two exhibitions entitled “Egon Schiele – Jean-Michel Basquiat” aim to explore the lives of the pair who have both died at the age of 28. “In under a decade, they became major figures in the art of their century,” said Fondation Louis Vuitton. “They are linked by their destiny and their fortune, that of a short-lived body of work, the impact, and permanency of which have few equals.” Take a look at select works above and head over to Fondation Louis Vuitton’s website to learn more. Both shows will run through October 3 until January 14, 2019.
