IKEA 75th Anniversary Gratulera Series

IKEA 75th Anniversary Gratulera Series

IKEA is turning 75 years old this year. To celebrate the landmark occasion, the Swedish furniture giant will relaunch iconic pieces from the 1950s to the 2000s. The commemorative installment will arrive in three distinct collections that are all under the series dubbed Gratulera. The company rummaged through its extensive archive to select items such as its first-ever Klippan sofa and retro Ekenäset armchair.
“Each launch is different to the other, signifying its time period; from dark woods with a classic expression, to a very playful style with strong colours and then to a more natural look with Scandinavian woods and graphic colours,” said IKEA’s creative leader Karin Gustavsson to Dezeen.
The ’50s-’60s rollout will take place in August, the ’70s-’80s in October, and ’90s-’00s in December. In other design news, Burberry also looked to its archive to create a new “Thomas Burberry” monogram alongside a Peter Saville-designed logo.
