Art a couple of months ago Share Tweet Pin Share Graphic designer Thomas Ollivier has just released a series of images that merges nostalgic technology with its superseded, present-day equivalents. Titled the “Re:Birth” series, the set of images feature modern-day tech companies along with the physical products (post-internet) that would best take their place in terms of function. Ollivier gives us an Instagram disposable camera, a Spotify branded portable cassette player, a Netflix Mattel View-Master, an Adobe Illustrator Etch-A-Sketch, a WhatsApp walkie-talkie, a Facebook pager, and finally, a Google Texas Instruments Speak & Spell. The designer’s work is an interesting dialogue on how times have changed, showing how items we’ve grown up using as tools for learning and communicating have gone from tactile devices to now mobile apps. In other art news, KAWS’ Calvin Klein Ad Disruption has just sold for $127,000 USD. Bonus: Want to stay up to date on our latest Rare Norm news ?
