The portrait portrays a “face inspired by the workers who gave their body and soul to the building of the dam, surrounded by a group of children and tree elements,” as per Arrested Motion. The large-scale artwork was made in collaboration with the Energias de Portugal (EDP) Foundation, a non-profit institution that focuses on sustainable development. The project is a part of EDP’s ongoing artist program that transforms Portuguese dams into stunning, sculptural works of art.
