MSR WindBurner Stove System Combo

Keeping a stove in your emergency car kit with meal options in case you break down is a smart move for long-haulers and road-trippers heading into remote areas of the north. MSR’s WindBurner Stove System Combo features a compact, nestable design of a cookstove, a ceramic-coated 2.5-L hard-anodized aluminum Sauce Pot with strainer lid and handle, and an 8-inch ceramic-coated skillet. Windproof and modular, the stove weighs just 831 grams. Its 8-oz fuel canister nests into the pot and the entire kit fits easily into your trunk. The radiant burner is windproof and its pressure regulator maintains consistent performance no matter the weather. If you’re not in danger of being stranded on backcountry highways, you can put Combo Stove to use for cold-weather camping or a beach cookout with friends.

Ooni Portable Pizza Ovens

At a certain point in your life, you just have to ask yourself how serious you really are about your love of pizza. If you are a true pizza aficionado, this is going to be on your next camping trip, but it has more uses than just that delectable cheesy flatbread. Bake or roast anything from steak to chicken with the Ooni (previously ‘Uuni’) 3 and Ooni Pro portable pizza ovens. The more compact Ooni 3 cooks with wood pellets while the larger Pro runs on pellets but also wood and charcoal. Both ovens fire up to 500°C (932°F) in 20 minutes – perfect for producing pizza with a crispy crust. Ooni has recently also launched gas burner attachments, sold separately for each model, which fit onto the back of an oven (connected to a propane tank) and give you finer temperature control. Stow the oven in the trunk, in a PVC bag sold separately that works either as an oven cover or a carryall for a dismantled oven. Find Ooni ovens and accessories in Canada at upscale retailers like Vancouver’s Kerrisdale Lumber, outdoor stores like MEC, or family-owned kitchenware-sellers like Williams Food Equipment.

Ooni Pro, $860.00, and Ooni 3, $450, https://ooni.com/
