McDonald’s New Chicago Flagship Location

McDonald’s New Chicago Flagship Location

In an expression of the future of The Golden Arches, McDonald’s recently opened its latest future set industrial designed flagship location.

Since the official unveiling of the space, the Chicago West Loop neighborhood location has drawn comparisons to Apple Stores thanks to its cross-laminated timber construction. As part of McDonald’s “Experience of the Future” revamp, the new 19,000-square-foot flagship features self-order kiosks, table service, mobile order and pay, and delivery offering a look at what all locations will be like by 2020.

Set to open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the building designed by Chicago-based firm Ross Barney Architects features specifications that impressively earned it a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. Sustainability-focused elements come in the form of energy-efficient wireless charging and outlets at shared tables, a garden in the dining room, over 70 trees at ground level, on-site solar panels, and harvestable apple trees on the kitchen roof.
