What can be said about the Adidas NMD R1 Primeknit? Well, I was really lucky to get my hands on a pair in the UK when they were released in April. They were nearly impossible to get, almost every site in the UK sold them out in a matter of seconds upon release. The hype was real. They were delivered to me in the standard blue Adidas box, and as soon as I opened it I was struck with that fantastic “new-shoe-smell”.
The shoes have a stretchy ankle collar which is very comfortable both for walking and running. The laces however, as stylish as they may be, were not very functional due to the elastic stretchy ankle collar. If you are like me, you may prefer to be able to tie your shoelace so tight that you stop the blood from flowing to your feet. But I digress. The sole is probably the most interesting part of these shoes as it’s made of Adidas cushioning technology known as “boost”. The boost sole makes running a lot more easier on the knees, and gives you a slight spongy bounce, while still feeling very stable, which is extremely comfortable.
In conclusion:The Adidas NMD R1 Primeknit is a very stylish and comfortable running shoe that will give you a pleasant running/walking experience. The boost sole will give you a stable, yet slightly bouncy feel when running. All in all a very nice, comfortable with a capital C, shoe. The only drawback as far as I’m concerned is the lace, however that is heavily outwheighed by the extreme comfort of these pair of shoes from Adidas.
