I love spending time in the kitchen, but you know what I love even more? KITCHEN GADGETS! Getting new toys for my kitchen inspires me to try new things and excites me to cook. While some are purely one-use items (I’m looking at you avocado slicer, that’s shaped like an avocado), there are many items that can save you tons of time and money in the kitchen, as well as expanding your ability to craft and create meals. Today we’re talking about the food processor and I’m going to convince you how much you need one! Here are just a handful of things you can do and make with yours.
1. Chopped Nuts
Let’s first talk about saving money, and how buying nuts usually means an expensive trip to the grocery store. Need chopped nuts? Get ready to fork out even more dough! See, grocery stores will charge you extra for “fancy” nuts that have already been chopped, sliced and diced. If you’ve got a food processor- problem solved. Buy nuts in bulk and then chop them yourself! They are great for making pestos, breading and nut butters. Oh, and it’s way easier than chopping them by hand.

2. Almond Butter (or any nut butter)
Speaking of nut butters. You never realized how easy it is to make your own nut butter into you’ve made it in a food processor! Seriously, all you need for this almond butter? Almonds. THAT’S IT. With so many allergies these days, it may just be plain easier to make your own because you can control all the ingredients and make whatever nut butters work best for your family.

3. No Bake Cookie Bars
Tired of buying expensive energy, granola and cookie bars to serve as snacks? You can quit the habit with this no bake “cookie” bar recipe. It only uses 4 ingredients (and sugar isn’t one of them!) that are whipped up in your food processor. Oh, and they’ve got chocolate and peanut butter in them so that pretty much seals the deal.
