Michelle Obama Just Shared a Never-Before-Seen Wedding Day Photo With Barack

There’s no anniversary or birthday needed to understand the full extent of cuteness of this photo.

For no reason other than wanting to celebrate her relationship (or maybe being inspired by the royal wedding), Michelle Obama posted a photo of herself and her husband, Barack Obama, on their wedding day in Chicago more than 25 years ago. And instead sharing a simple snap of the couple, Michelle instead leaned into a more intimate moment from the day’s festivities — her beloved sliding her garter down her thigh and off her foot. (Also, great wedding dress! Look at that veil!)

“You can’t tell it from this photo, but Barack woke up on our wedding day in October, 1992 with a nasty head cold,” Michelle shared in the caption. “Somehow, by the time I met him at the altar, it had miraculously disappeared and we ended up dancing almost all night. Twenty five years later, we’re still having fun, while also doing the hard work to build our partnership and support each other as individuals. I can’t imagine going on this wild ride with anybody else.”

Of course, the Obamas have shared several photos from their wedding day in the past, most recently to commemorate their 25 years as a couple. “Happy 25th anniversary @barackobama,” Michelle wrote in October. “A quarter of a century later, you’re still my best friend & the most extraordinary man I know. I 💕 you.”

In other outstanding Obama-related news that doesn’t relate to #TBT pics, the couple — in a rather unprecedented move for a former president and first lady — has signed a deal with Netflix to produce films and television shows. While the specific projects coming to life are still unknown, the streaming giant is teasing that it includes both scripted and unscripted programs, which roughly translates to literally anything the Obamas deem worthy enough to explore.

“One of the simple joys of our time in public service was getting to meet so many fascinating people from all walks of life, and to help them share their experiences with a wider audience,” President Obama explained when the news broke. “That’s why Michelle and I are so excited to partner with Netflix — we hope to cultivate and curate the talented, inspiring, creative voices who are able to promote greater empathy and understanding between peoples, and help them share their stories with the entire world.”
