If your favorite part of any Starbucks drink is the whipped cream topping (sorry, not sorry), you’re in for a treat. The coffee chain announced Tuesday that it has concocted a new flavored whipped cream that is perfect for people who love caffeinated drinks. The new Sweet Cold Brew Whipped Cream, which launches in the United States and Canada on May 1, is an infusion of cold brew coffee, dark caramel sauce, and white chocolate mocha sauce that will add a hint of coffee to any cold drink. And that’s not all: two new frappuccinos are also hitting the menu.
The Ultra Caramel Frappuccino and the Triple Mocha Frappuccino take the classic flavored frapps to the next level with help of the Sweet Cold Brew Whipped Cream. Both start with a layer of the new whipped cream, topped with a swirl of either dark caramel sauce (for the Ultra Caramel) or dark mocha sauce (for the Triple Mocha). On top of the whipped cream, the drink features either a dark caramel coffee Frappuccino or the mocha coffee Frappuccino. Both are then finished with another layer of Sweet Cold Brew Whipped Cream and a swirl of dark caramel or dark mocha sauce. As if two new frapps and a new flavor of whipped cream weren’t enough, Starbucks is also introducing a new vegan food option, the Macadamia Oat Cookie.
The two new frapps will be added to the permanent Starbucks menu, apparently disproving the recent report that the chain was going to cut down on specialty drinks by 30%. Who needs the Unicorn Frappuccino or Crystal Ball Frappuccino when the Ultra Caramel Frapp and the Triple Mocha Frapp sound like summer staples?
