Island Profile: Greek Islands: Santorini!
Just a few days ago, I was looking for some interesting places to travel. During my search I stumbled upon a group of islands on the southeast coast of Greek Islands, the Cyclades. However, there was a one island that caught all my attention: Santorini, one of the major travel destinations among the Greek Islands!
Santorini is about 35.02 square miles of beautiful terrain. It the largest and southernmost island in the group of islands in that southeast area called the Cyclade. Perhaps the most interesting things about Santorini is the fact that it is the site of one of the largest volcanic eruptions ever recorded in history: the Minoan eruption/ Thera eruption, which took place over 3 centuries ago.
One of the cool things about Santorini is the fact that it contains red beaches, black beaches, white beaches (Darker beaches have warmer water because sand acts as a heat absorber). Some sources day the legend of the great city of Atlantis.
So whether you’re cliff jumping from Amoudi Bay, hiking along Trail Fira- Oia, sunbathing on the black sands of Kamari Beeach, or enjoying dinner with a view, Santorini Island is sure to be a jaw-dropping experience!
