Wat Nawamintararachutis is the Thai Buddhist temple located in Raynham, Massachusetts. For short, Wat Nawamin, was established in the year of 2002 in honor of the Majesty King Rama IX of Thailand. Wat Nawamin is the most beautiful temple I have ever seen. I visited the temple this past week, and I was blown away by the architecture. There was a lot of detail on the building and floors and the colors were very neutral. Most important to me, was Wat Nawamin’s purpose to serve people of all races and different backgrounds to benefit from Buddhist meditation.
This Thai Buddhist temple provides a lot of different services for its members, making it the best place for people to meditate and learn about the Thailand culture. The center is very focused on creating a very vibrant and connected Thai-American environment. If one is to become a member of this temple, they do not need to worry about fitting in. There are classes for Thai language, dance, culture, which make it very easy to accommodate. It is very hart warming for some members to attend Wat Nawamin. Being away from Thailand, members can feel at home and able to connect with people from their culture. For sure, the center has incorporated the two cultures perfectly and continues to work around this with yearly events; including, a meditation retreat held every month.
Upon visiting, I was truly taken away by the decor of the building. It was located on a quiet rode, and was extremely beautiful. Though I knew nothing of the culture or the people, I felt very welcomed by the monks. They were kind, and were very happy to show us around and teach us meditation. I sat on a mat for twenty minutes and felt like my legs were going to fall off, but do not worry, the monk gave me a soda! If you are looking for a place to manifest the Buddha in you, Wat Nawaminararachutis is the place to go!
