List a few months ago Share Tweet Pin Share Earlier this month, City of Lies — a film about the investigation of The Notorious B.I.G.‘s unsolved murder — was shelved, having been abruptly pulled from theatrical release. The movie was originally scheduled to debut in theaters on September 7, exactly 22 years after Tupac Shakur’s Las Vegas shooting. Now, it looks like the Johnny Depp- and Forest Whitaker-starring film is on the lookout for a new distributor. As Uproxx reports, Global Road Entertainment — the company behind City of Lies – is hoping to sell the movie as part of its strategy to battle bankruptcy. Several of Global Road’s recent ventures, such as a “robot dog movie” known as A.X.L., have grossed some pretty low figures at the box office, and the company is looking to stay afloat amid a flood of serious financial troubles. Along with City of Lies, Global Road is also selling a Kiernan Shipka horror film known as The Silence. Bonus: Want to stay up to date on our latest Rare Norm news ?
