List a few months ago Share Tweet Pin Share The Marvel Cinematic Universe may transport us to a superhero fantasy world, but many of its biggest movies scenes take place in New York City. In a recent video by Vanity Fair, (almost) every Marvel movie scene that takes place in the Big Apple is pinpointed on a map of the city, taking viewers on a tour of NYC through the Marvel narrative. The highlighted scenes range from those establishing characters’ background stories — such as Peter Parker‘s Queens hometown and Steve Rogers’s Brooklyn — to fight scenes that take place in familiar landmarks. The video also pinpoints fictional Marvel buildings to their real-life neighborhoods/counterparts, such as the S.H.I.E.L.D. base next to Times Square, the Stark Expo (in Iron Man 2) in Flushing Meadows Park, and that Stark Tower, which is actually the MetLife building.
