Any time someone borrowed money and didn’t pay it back, I never spoke to them again. And I told them that ahead of time as well.
So my policy with money/trust in general is simple: I’ll trust you (to pay me back/otherwise) with as much as I’d be more hurt by the betrayal than the loss.
E.g., I would not trust you (random Redditor) with $1mil, because if you didn’t pay be back I would be more hurt by the loss of $1mil than I would be hurt by you “betraying” me, because I don’t know you.
On the flipside, I would trust my father with a loan of $1k because I’d be more by the betrayal of him choosing not to pay me back than I would be hurt by losing $1k.
