But the title is correct in that it does nicely illustrate the standard of the bizarre and the absurd in East-Asian advertising. Western commercials are hard for me to watch because they tend to come across as someone shoving something in my face and saying “BUY THIS SHIT!!” Absurdist ads like this provide some entertainment value, display some positive attribute of the product in an indirect fashion (appealingly tasty, big) and does so in a memorable fashion. After this if someone says “Hey, have you seen that weird Korean Burger King ad where the guy acts like a snake?” you will know exactly what they’re talking about. Mission accomplished.
