But the title is correct in that it does nicely illustrate the standard of the bizarre and the absurd in East-Asian advertising. Western commercials are hard for me to watch because they tend to come across as someone shoving something in my face and saying “BUY THIS SHIT!!” Bonus: Want to stay up to date on our latest Rare Norm news ? Absurdist ads like this provide some entertainment value, display some positive attribute of the product in an indirect fashion (appealingly tasty, big) and does so in a memorable fashion. After this if someone says “Hey, have you seen that weird Korean Burger King ad where the guy acts like a snake?” you will know exactly what they’re talking about. Mission accomplished.
