2018 FIFA World Cup Best Memes

All eyes are currently on Russia as the nation plays host to this summer’s biggest tournament: the 2018 FIFA World Cup. With the Round of 16 having just finished, the tournament has already been filled with surprise advancements and upsets including Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo being sent home on the same day as France took out Argentina and Uruguay took out Portugal this past Saturday. On the following match day, host Russia elevated the spirits in their home country as they defeated favorites Spain in the tournament’s first penalty kick shootout, followed by another pk shootout seeing Croatia advance over Denmark. On the final days of Round of 16 action, Brazil beat Mexico while Belgium came back from behind to take out Japan. On the other-hand, Sweden snuck past Switzerland and England beat Columbia in an intense matchup, finally winning their first penalty shootout at a World Cup.
