Gaming a few months ago Share Tweet Pin Share Remember Bloodborne’s Cathedral Ward area? Well it’s actually buried deep within Dark Souls Remastered, as a modder found out for themselves earlier this week. As you can see in the video from the modder themselves just below, the Cathedral Ward area from 2015’s Bloodborne has been found within 2018‘s Dark Souls Remastered, the re-release of the original game from back in 2011. So what’s the concept of the Cathedral Ward area doing in Dark Souls Remastered? A Souls series modder Lance McDonald tweeted out that the map is not new work by the team that worked on Dark Souls Remastered, and is actually from the original game back in 2011, four years before Bloodborne would be released. twitter-tweet”> Here’s a look at the early prototype of Bloodborne’s “Upper Cathedral Ward” map that was left behind in the Dark Souls REMASTERED files. It was created a long time ago back back when Dark Souls was in development. It’s not new work by the REMASTERED team. pic.twitter.com/BKBVGl1o8t Lance McDonald (@manfightdragon) May 25, 2018 It doesn’t help matters that Trevor from Grand Theft Auto 5 is running and driving around the unused Cathedral Ward map. It turns out that to actually open the Cathedral Ward map file, the modders had to take the file and input it into a “3D software” file, which could then be repackaged and opened up within Grand Theft Auto 5.
