Nintendo Might Only Show Games Coming Out in 2018 at E3 This Year

Nintendo has announced its E3 2018 schedule which includes the annual Nintendo Treehouse Live, but also includes a couple of live esports events for Splatoon 2 and Super Smash Bros.

Nintendo’s headline event seems to be centered around Super Smash Bros. which was announced for the Nintendo Switch earlier this year. As part of the festivities, Nintendo will the Super Smash Bros. Invitational 2018 on June 12.

As for the games Nintendo plans on previewing, you’ll have to tune in at 9am PT/12pm ET on June 12 where Nintendo will be showing off games coming out in 2018 through the Treehouse Live. After that Nintendo will host three days of live gameplay, developer interviews, and inside look at the upcoming games.

It’s interesting that Nintendo says that only releasing in 2018 will be showcased at E3 this year. This could mean that Nintendo is planning a bigger-than-expected roster of games for the year, but also that games like Metroid Prime 4 will not be shown at the event.
