Report: Kingdom Hearts 3 Release Date Listed by Retailer

A retailer has listed Kingdom Hearts 3 for a November 1, 2018 release date. While this is most likely a placeholder date, it does give confidence that our long collective wait for Kingdom Hearts 3 will hopefully end this year.

A pre-order listing on Target for Kingdom Hearts 3 set the release date for Wednesday October 31, with orders going out on November 1. Games don’t typically come out on Thursday, so this is likely just a placeholder.

We should get an actual release date for Kingdom Hearts 3 at E3 2018 this year which is set as always in June. However, last year Square Enix announced that Kingdom Hearts 3 will be coming in 2018, it’s just a matter of when.

It’s probably not a stretch to assume Kingdom Hearts 3 might appear in the all-important October/November months, but the exact release date still eludes us. But after waiting so long for Kingdom Hearts 3, nothing can hurt us anymore.

Part of that delay, according to director Tetsuya Nomura, was that development switched from Square Enix’s Luminous engine to Unreal Engine 4. The change caused a setback in development.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is long-awaited sequel to the Kingdom Hearts series. First announced back at E3 2013, we were excited to see some new trailers showing off content like Toy Story world last year at D23.
