Skullgirls Devs’ Indivisible Delayed into 2019


Today on “Sad News that Makes us Sad,” one of USgamer’s most anticipated games of 2018, Indivisible, got its release date bumped to the first half of 2019. Lab Zero wants to use the extra time to make sure the platformer / RPG gets all the tweaks and polish it deserves.

The news about the delay came through earlier today on the official Indivisible blog. “While we did everything we could to prevent this from happening, the simple reality is that Indivisible ended up being a much larger project than we could have anticipated when the game was conceived way back in 2015,” the post states. “A number of other issues related to shipping a product of this size contributed to this decision, but the main issue is just the sheer number of assets this game requires and the time needed to deliver them at the quality you expect from a Lab Zero game.”

Extra funds are necessary to make up for Indivisible’s extended development time (and a new Lead Writer and Lead Level Designer were hired to make sure the 2019 release winds up being a sure thing), but 505 Games is chipping in with the additional money, and Lab Zero’s Skullgirls royalties will cover the rest. Lab Zero promises no content will be cut.

Indivisible is coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, MacOS, and Linux. Its in-game graphics are eye-catching, and animation studio Trigger (Kill la Kill, Little Witch Academia) is helping to whip up the title’s opening animation.
