State of Decay 2 Players Killed Over 600 Million Zombies in the First Week

How many zombies have you killed? That’s what I thought. Well, the players of State of Decay 2 have already killed 675 million zombies, and those figures were from last week.

Microsoft’s zombie survival sim appears to be off to a rollicking start with over a million players picking up the game in the first two days. That impressive feat is backed by a similarly impressive engagement fans are having with the game.

Since launch, State of Decay 2 had over 41,000 unique broadcasts on Mixer, Twitch, and YouTube and over 3.5 million hours of gameplay have been streamed. Players seem to have an average survival of about three days, which isn’t that great. Let’s get that engagement up people!

State of Decay 2 is the sequel to 2013’s zombie game from Undead Labs. It requires players to gather supplies, recruit allies, fortify safe houses, and just survive for as long as they can against a horde of undead zombies. While zombie mania might have peaked a couple years ago State of Decay 2 shows that players are always down for a good zombie survival game.
